The MHHA was founded in 1997 and began accumulating historical documents, photographs and artifacts in order to fulfill its mandate of preserving historical information relating to Morin Heights and the surrounding area. These materials were donated by existing and past residents allowing us to accumulate an impressive collection that we use as the basis for public presentations and displays at community events. We also use the images and documents when producing publications such as our “Porcupine”, a journal of the history of Morin Heights.
Eventually we will be installing a specialized computer program so that we can digitize all our records making them more easily accessible for our purposes and for interested parties, on request.
Our Facebook page has become a popular way for people to find answers to their questions about the history of our area. Join our 400+ member Facebook group and post questions or join discussions on many subjects. Simply click on the Facebook icon at the bottom left of this page and request to join the group.
If you have documents or other materials that may be of historical significance, or wish to request information from MHHA, please contact us at mhha98@hotmail.com and we will be happy to discuss them with you.
